Wine of the Month: Miraval Rosé

MIRAVAL CÔTES DE PROVENCE ROSÉ

Crisp, refreshing, and never too sweet. There’s nothing like opening a chilled bottle of Miraval’s Côtes de Provence Rosé on a summer day. I couldn’t resist making this beautiful bottle July’s Wine of the Month.

This has been Mike and I’s go-to rosé for a while now. It’s the perfect choice for when we can’t decide between a light white or a bold red — it has all that sought-after flavor without any heaviness. It starts with a fresh hit of fruity and floral scents, everything you would expect from a Provence rosé. Once you take a sip, you’ll be met with a hint of acidity that feels refreshing, not overwhelming. The finish is clean and smooth with a slightly mineral aftertaste that makes you want another sip.

As for pairings, nothing goes better with this wine than a poolside day. But, jokes aside, a white fish with a light to medium sauce is your best bet for fully enjoying the taste. I love to make tilapia with butter sauce and uncork a bottle for either lunch or dinner. Honestly, most seafood would pair well with this bottle — anything light that won’t overwhelm the bright, crisp taste of the wine.

If you want an in-depth, technical look into the vinification and terroir of this wine, be sure to check out their site here. To get your hands on a bottle, I’ve found it for a great price at Costco, Total Wine, and Trader Joes. You can also order a half case directly from the vineyard here. Let me know if you try it! But I already know you’ll love it.

Cheers!
